Clicking links open new tabs

more options

This problem hasn’t been an issue in the past but now, whenever I click any link on any website, it automatically opens a new link and doesn’t show that the link was opened. I am on an iPad Pro 12.9inch for reference. It’s getting frustrating because I will click the link and nothing will happen and its not until I scroll up and expand tabs at the top of the screen that I see all the tabs that were opened bc of me clicking that link. Any ideas how to stop this?

This happens to me all the time too. It doesn’t seem consistent when it starts happening, but once it starts, every link opened in that tab will open in a new tab until that tab is closed or the app is restarted.

I am also having this issue consistently for at least the last month or so. Firefox 97.0 for iPad Pro 11-inch. Links always open in a new tab in the background. And if the tab bar is full, the new tabs open out of view so you have to scroll to the side to even see them at all. Haven’t found a solution yet; it’s enough of a disruption that I am switching back to Safari until it’s resolved.
