getting annoying popups even tho popups is off; told to go to preferences? then content; then choose to rid of?
I contacted the Daily Mail newspaper because I keep getting their popup news alert messages even when I am reading my email. My Firefox popup blocker is checked. I complained to the news paper and they gave the following message to get rid of these annoying messages. Here are their instructions to stop this on Firefox> 1. Click the Settings icon in the top right of your browser window and choose "Preferences" 2.From the left hand side of the page, choose "Content" 3. Under Notifications, press "Choose
There is no Preferences category under my settings icon. There is no Content on the left side of the page when I go to Settings There is no Notifications label from which to select Choose.
How the heck do I get rid of this annoying popup or notification or whatever the heck it is? Please advise. Thx

Did you check your computer for unknown software installs? It sounds more like that site installed something like tracking software onto your computer to pop regardless where the Browser site it's at. The only time I see such small screen popup is that your still logged into the site so they track your Browser usage. So what is the link to that site that you use cause what your describing sounds more like malware install then site popup since it comes whether your at or logged in the site.

You can find Notification in "Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Permissions"

Followed the directions suggested: Click the menu button Fx89menuButton and select Settings. Click Privacy & Security from the left pane. Scroll to the Permissions section. Click the Settings... button to the right of Notifications. Select Allow or Block from the Status drop-down for any of the websites. Click the Save Changes button. But still having these annoying push notifications even while on email. Mozilla Support person DontHaveCow suggests that if getting these while reading email the problem is with gmail rather than the Firefox browser. Any merit to that if still getting these notification after following the above? If it is related to gmail then what's the solution to stop it. Get rid of FireFox and reload etc?
I get these Daily Mail pop up notifications whether I am on Daily Mail or not. My home page for Firefox is Recommended by Pocket. Doesn't matter whether on email or on another site and some DM alert notification of a Daily Mail news article pops up in the lower right portion of my screen in a small box that links me to the article. I clicked on an article box and Daily Mail offered me a Block indicator so I selected the block, but it appears to only have stopped that particular notification because other DM news notifications have since popped up and I have to stop what I am doing and delete each one. ???
