Firefox is hanging on to an ancient dead email address, which it uses automatically when replying in on line forms where I don't have the option of filling one in (form won't send because account is dead), or trying to get into dropbox, etc. (identifies me as not having access under the old email address because access was set up for my current email address).

I have looked here but don't find the places to go as described at all:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-primary-email-address-firefox-accounts.

Where do I find Firefox's stored email address that it uses for functions as described above?

FYI, I use Thunderbird for email, but not Firefox. I have my proper email address identified as primary in Thunderbird, and the dead address and all emails completely deleted as far as I can find them. Am on Win 7; Firefox 105.0.1 at present, but this has been a problem for a long time. Thank you. Dave

Can you see the unwanted address on the screen when you are filling the form? Firefox has two different features that can enter form data:

(1) Form History

These items usually do not fill automatically, but they appear in a drop-down of available matches as you type in the field. To remove one of these items, use the down arrow to highlight it and then press either the Delete key or Shift+Delete.

More info: Control whether Firefox automatically fills in forms

(2) Address autofill

This is a newer feature available in some regions. When an address is filled by this feature, the field usually gets a shaded background (typically yellow on a light theme). You can clean up address autofills on the Settings page.

What if it's not one of those? Possibly the site set a cookie ages ago with the old information for your convenience. If you don't care about any cookies the site has set, which could store your currently logged in status and various preferences, you can clear all of the site's cookies and local storage data. But you also could try checking for the specific item. To do that, while viewing the page, press Shift+F9 to open the Storage Inspector. Firefox should show the cookie list automatically, and maybe you can spot one you want to right-click > Delete. In the left column, you also can look at Local Storage to see whether it's in there.

Any luck so far?

Suggestions in a login drop down list that have a key icon in front are login suggestions that you need to remove in the Password Manager.

Suggestions in a drop down list without a key symbol are autocomplete saved form data. Suggestions without a key icon are part of autocomplete saved form data that you should be able to remove by selecting this item with the cursor Down key and pressing Delete (Mac: Shift+Delete).
