How do I stop the threading of messages in Tunderbird 2022
Still waiting to figure out how to unthread messages in this newest version of Thunderbird 102.3.2 (64 bit). It makes it impossible/hard for me to find new messages unless I open up the threads and I just simply don't like the view and the option to View>Threads>Ignored Threads isn't the right option obviously because I want to ignore threads, not to just view the Ignored threads. Please hurry with a solution. This is driving me nuts after years of wonderful service with Thunderbird. Might need to fire those new techies and get the old fogies back. If you can't give us the options to choose, then you are becoming just like corporations. I understand the volunteer process and all but please, don't forget the reasons why we love Thunderbird and "moving up with the times" isn't always necessarily for the better. Look at the crap Microsoft is forcing us to do with their new OS crap. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I share your pain. You are not the first to share disappointment in this change.
You need View>sort by>unthreaded. More info: In config editor, you can change default that applies to NEW folders you set up: mailnews.default_view_flags 0=unthreaded
To set many folders, follow these steps:
In the Message List view, in the column header on the far right, open the options menu. At the very bottom is the option: -> "Apply current view to..." -> "Folder and its children..." -> Hover over an account -> In the next menu don't select a folder. Instead select the account name itself.
This isn't a perfect solution, but it does address the issue of unthreading many folders.
Thanks. I did this part: View>sort by>unthreaded I think that solves it. But the rest I don't know how to do, the Config Editor. So if the rest applies I can't figure that out since I have no clue about programming. But thanks for the first part. I won't close this out until I am sure it's what I needed. Thanks again for the quick response also. I needed that before the headache became intense. Fran
They posted this. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/message-threading-thunderbird#thunderbird:win10:tb102 Let's see if it stays. Doing it your way didn't stay unthreaded so let's see what happens now.
But the rest I don't know how to do, the Config Editor.
