In Firefox, I want to load several tabs each time I start Firefox, but now the same tabs repeat when I refocus on Firefox

I had Firefox set to load 4 tabs when started. Something has changed recently and now it seems as if the same 4 sites keep repeating somehow. I have set the Home/Custom URLs to these 4 sites, but cannot prevent them to load again when already loaded.

Just realized that the tabs repeat when I click on the home icon. Tried to limit the tabs to 1 tab, but that also repeats when I click on the home icon.

Yes, that is how the Home page setting works.

Another option -- assuming you don't flush history when Firefox closes -- would be to use the pinned tabs feature for those 4 pages. This article has more information on that option: Pinned Tabs - keep favorite websites open and just a click away.

Thanks for the response. I see how that works, but unless something has changed, I had 4 full tabs load once when I started Firefox by setting Custom URL's and when I clicked the home icon, I returned to the first tab. It's been a while since I configured this so I am uncertain how I set it, I just know that something has changed.

Firefox has always opened the full set of multiple homepages if you click the toolbar Home button instead of moving focus to an existing tab, although you might have had an extension that made this work differently. You may have previously had disabled "Restore Previous Session" on startup and opened a blank page on startup if you needed to click the Home button.
