My words added to dictionary do not show up as possible corrections the next time I spell the word wrong
I can easily add words to the dictionary but then the next time I spell the work wrong there are no suggestions on how to spell it. My added word does not come up in the drop down list.
This happened
Every time Firefox opened

You do get a drop down list, confirming that the spell checker is working properly?
You may have a problem with the file persdict.dat in the Profile_Folder --- See How do I use the Firefox spell checker?

Ditto, I added a word to the dictionary, but it is not recognized. My profile is located on a different drive than the program files. My version of FF is 3.5.7 (can't upgrade because an add-in is dependent on this version). Still researching....
