i am unable to connect to the windows update center. i use fire fox and avast antivirsus. I think i need to use internet exployer to do this but it isn't working
i can't use the windows update program. i think i have to use internet exployer to do this. i tried but it doesn't work.. can firefox connect to the windows update site

You can do Windows updates at this URL: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com As this website says, to use it, you must be running Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or later. The reason for that is the interaction of the website with the Windows Operating System in such a way that only Internet Explorer supports. Internet Explorer comes with the Windows OS family by default, and to update the system, please just do Start > Windows update, which opens IE regardless which browser is the default one.
