I get http://www.landing.savetubevideo.com when I do searches and I alreadly uninstalled savetubevideo.
When I do searches and click on the results, some results go to custom search with the address http://www.landing.savetubevideo.com. I uninstalled this program and it didn't help.
This happened
Every time Firefox opened
== I recevied an error message about downloader.com, wpcap.dll was missing

Step 1: Use search function for "Download Youtube " and Savetubevideo" files. Delete all those file and shortcuts.
Step 2: Go to C:\Program Files. At "Download Youtube Free", right click on mouse and go to 'Properties' and uncheck 'Read Only'. Check yes to change all inside folders and files. Delete ALL the files in there. There will be one ***.dll file cannot be deleted. Rename the particular file to "111.xxx"
Step 3: Backup bookmarks from Firefox and uninstall Firefox on Control Panel.
Step 4: Go back to C:\Program Files and delete folder "Download Youtube Free"
Step 5: Go to C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch and delete any filename with "Download Youtube Free" or similar name to that.
Step 6: Reinstall Firefox. Import the back-up bookmarks.
I hope this helps.

I am also the victim of same problem. I tried uninstalling FF and intalling it.. but of no use :(
Did you have any success in sorting this?
I'm having the same problem. I uninstalled Savetube but it didn't help. It doesn't always happen, but does happen randomly. I'm running Firefox 3.6.6 w/ Windows 7 Ultimate.
Hi, the same has happened to me. I installed Savetube to grab youtube videos but it started to annoy me with it so I went to uninstall it now I have this problem... Help!
I filtered out the registry and cleaned it for Savetube. I uninstalled and reinstalled the FF. Also I have scanned my machine using macAfee. I am still facing the same issue.

HERE'S THE WAY TO REMOVE that annoying savetubevideo.
I tried every malware/etc. removal software. Nothing worked. Finally I downloaded (free for 30 days) revo uninstaller pro. You'll see it listed in your programs in the program. When you tell it to force uninstall it it will tell you that it can't find that programs built in uninstall feature. That's okay. You will then tell it "next" or "continue" and it will find leftover stuff (actually all of it and it will be alot). You will select ALL the boxes and tell it to delete. I did this a couple to times. It will remove all but a couple but it will tell you that once you reboot it will remove those. I did that and it deleted everything. I did one more search which brought up an empty folder for savetubevideo and I easily just deleted it and emptied the trash. Good luck. www.revouninstaller.com (I'm not an affiliate or anything for that site.)
I was also facing the same issue & tried out www.revouninstaller.com .. it looks likes problem is fixed now .. will keep it under observation for 2-3days if it resurface, I will post the update again.. else you can assume .. i'm lucky :-)
Thanks arealmuse for your advise.. cheers!!

Unfortunately www.revouninstaller.com tool didn't work for me... finally i have tried out a option in Mozilla browser itself to block savetube (www.landing.savetubevideo.com)
Once this page opens, right click > Page options click on 'Permission's tab & Block all, also go to securities tab & delete the cookies.
I have not faced problem afterward, I believe it is solved now..
Привет всем! Установил SaveTubeVideo 3.7 и получил такую-же проблему. Постоянные перенаправления на landing.savetubevideo.com.
Hi all! I installed the program SaveTubeVideo 3.7 and got the same problem. Constant re-direct to landing.savetubevideo.com. Removing SaveTubeVideo not solve the problem, cleaning the registry - too. : (
Did this: 1. Installed Ashampoo UnInstaller; 2. Again installed SaveTubeVideo; 3. Removed SaveTubeVideo using Ashampoo UnInstaller; 4. removed the WinPcap driver (Standard Uninstall procedure), which has been installed with SaveTubeVideo; 5. Clean up the registry. During the whole evening - no "departure". :)

i had this problem too. i seem to have found a fix.
first start firefox in safe mode. does that work? it worked for me. if that does work then start in normal mode, goto tools/addons/themes and go back to the default. then restart browser. fixed? with me i only had the default theme in the first place so that wasnt it. then tools/addons/extensions. disable everything. that fixed it for me. so from there once you know its one of the extensions then pick and choose which to enable and see who the culprit is, but if they're all disabled there shouldnt be an issue.
i should mention there's still a small problem. if i type something into the address bar, say "hello", it used to google that word. now instead it goes to a different search. but at least i can browse comfortably w/o that savetube site opening every few seconds. yayyy!
Its ausome........!!!!! thanks a lot for the solution, my pc is now faster than before and not redirecting to that website again.
It seems that I get rid of this problem. But have to watch it out for few more days if it is again annoying me.
Dears it is easy to remove this JUNK, Please follow me: 1- Delete all Cookies and history in Tools --> Internet Options --> Delete... 2- Start --> Search program and file-->( Type Regedit) -->(When find it double click on it) 3- (After running the program) Ctrl+F--> (type "savetubevideo" then click find next) 4- (After finding that right click on this JUNK! and click on Delete! 5- go to step 3 again until end of list 6- restart your computer 7- Have a nice time!
Hello I got the same junk
first searc is redirected to smatwensearch.com then landing.savetube.com then to google analitics
there is a connection open to reverse-mtl-76-76-106.gogax.com based in Canada
I try the above mentionned tricks with no avail Any new solution
(OS is Windows XP - Mozilla 3.6.13)
I had this problem too and I found that you have to take an additional step to get rid of the annoyance.
Before you re-install FireFox you have to go to C:\Documents\(your user name)\application data\Mozilla.
Your path will be different but similar.
There you delete the contents of the folder. Apparently it is in this folder that the data for this pest are stored.
After that proceed with the re-installation and the import of the bookmarks.
Hope that helps.
Pete
I have desinstalled Firefox ( and back-up my bookmark) then restart then reinstall the new beta version 4.09 restore my bookmarks
it seems to be solved ???? unfortunately in the beat version we do not see at the bottom of the windows the way Firefox connect ans can not check if there is redirection to landing.....
@arealmuse, I cannot possibly tell you how much I love you. Your solution worked perfectly, and thanks to it that god-damned thing has scampered with its ass on fire from my computer. Soon I will be joining a world-wide propaganda against this site. Bastards. Thank you so much. Hope you are a girl, so that my love doesn't go in vain... :-)
