It keeps putting yahoo back in the search engine list and trying to make it be the default search instead of Google. No matter how many times I change it, it keeps happening and it does not ask my permission to do this.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

You can try to start with the "Search Settings Plugin" extension.
The "Search Settings Plugin" extension may have been added by another extension like PDF Creator.
