bookmarks toolbar is empty and wont come back

after i installed FF4 everything was fine but then my bookmark toolbar in work has gone, the space for it is there but it is empty, however if i click the bookmark in the menu all my links and sites are there but no matter what i do i cannot get them to anchor to the toolbar.

please help i have tried all other suggestions offered with searching google for answers last week

You need to put it in yourself. I'm not sure if it was removed by default or I did it without realizing, but here is the solution:

Right click the toolbar and make sure the bookmarks toolbar is enabled. Right click the toolbar again and select Customize. One of the icons is called Bookmarks Toolbar Items. Drag this icon onto the (empty) bookmarks toolbar. Once you close the customization window, your bookmarks will appear.
