Neither version will have Flash support.

mbrubeck explained this well. "we are still investigating the problem to find out how much work it will take. We know it will not be ready in time for Firefox 5 (coming in June) or Firefox 6 (August). It will probably not be ready for Firefox 7 (scheduled for September or October 2011). It might be ready for one of the releases soon after that (we will release a new version every six weeks), but we can't promise anything yet.

The reason we don't know yet is that Flash for Android uses new and undocumented plugin API extensions, and we are basically reverse-engineering these from the Android Browser source code. Since there is no specification or documentation, this takes a bit of detective work. We also need to figure out whether these extensions can work well without modification in Firefox's multi-process architecture, or whether Flash itself will need changes to work with Firefox on Android without causing performance or stability problems.

Mozilla is a non-profit open source project, and all our work is done in the open. When we know more about this work, we will publish it at the link I posted above. Many "professional" organizations like Apple and Google do most of their work in secret and do not announce new features until development is complete. Mozilla is not like that - we are happy to answer any questions you have, even at this early stage of development."

Is there a plug-in, or any other alternative? I prefer using FireFox mobile, than the default Android 2.2 browser. I also downloaded SkyFire, but still prefer FireFox.

The nice thing about FireFox is that I have my bookmarks, history and tabs synchronized with my home computer, via FireFox Sync. I also use Xmarks, which also syncs, but the advantage it has is that it can also sync with Internet Explorer, so you can share your bookmarks with your phone, IE, and FireFox. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for a clear and complete answer. I like using Mozilla and rarely use flash so it does not bother me so much. I do however like the add-ons in the dolphin browser.

Thanks for your clear answer, although the lack of Flash doesn't bother me much; I could use the stock browser if necessary but it's still good if Firefox supports it since it is my main browser on Android. Flash websites are pretty common and HTML5 isn't going to take over that soon.

Not good enough. I can't believe that Adobe would not want to resolve this with Mozilla. It is in their interests to get Flash up there on every browser that it can. Especially with the HTML5 spectre looming. Something is missing from the explanation.
