I have used Firefox on my old desktop with Windows XP for three years. I always asked it to remember my passwords and it wouldremember and insert passwords automatically when I returned to a site to log in.

Now, I have a new PC with Windows 7, Norton, and Constant Guard (free security program through my IP, Comcast). I have gone in to set Tools/Options/Security and clicked Remember Passwords for Sites many times but the passwords are not inserted automatically when I am using my new laptop. I also have to go in and reset this because it does not remain checked' from log-in to log-in, but it still does not work when I reset it. Now it doesn't even ask me if I want to remember the password when I log in to a website for the first time. It used to do that and I think it was before I started using one of the security features either in Constant Guard or Norton.

Is there some way to check these to determine if they are interfering with Firefox's remembering passwords?

Why is Firefox not inserting my passwords that have been remembered and now, not even asking if I want to remember them? When I go in to Saved Passwords/Show Passwords, the previously saved passwords are there? Why aren't they being inserted?

Thanks for your help!

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

your problem is constant guard go to tools then addons and turn off the constant guard add on which as a security feature is turning off your remember passwords feature.
