Most likely you are showing the Menu Bar. Right click on a toolbar space and uncheck Menu Bar - the Firefox button should appear. You can toggle from one to the other.

Worked perfectly but why couldn't I find an answer without having to jump through so many hoops? I spent at least a half hour just to get the simplest answer to a very simple question, where no security was involve?
This was given a lot of publicity when Fx4 first came out. The button should have appeared by default in Fx4 for Vista and 7.
You are not alone, though, the question gets asked every day - there is one a page or two away from yours.
I'm having the same problem however my toolbar & taskbar are also missing. This has happened before and somehow it fixed itself. Now it's not fixing itself; being going on for many days. I've tried unlocking and locking taskbar; not success. I tried the solution offered on this post but does not work. Someone please help because I do not want to go back using Internet Explorer. I need to be able to access the icons in my taskbar while on a web page. Thanks. Wish I knew how to post an image of it.
Firefox doesn't have a "taskbar", whatever you have missing is called something else - so a screenshot would be nice.

It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.
Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.
Thank you sooo much for showing me how to do a screen shot; it works. However, my Cable guy was fixing my tv and I asked about my missing taskbar, tool bar and Firefox button. He told me hit F11, I got it back. Don't remember hitting F11 before but when you hit it, it removes, hit again, it brings it back. Thanks anyway for your help on this forum.
I'm 63 yr.s old, and wasn't raised with these wonderful machines, so a big thanks to you for your help. It worked. They require it's use to continue to learn about Firefox. I had to install Firefox, or Microsoft did, 'cause Internet Exp. 8 gave me trouble. It worked just fine for 4 years, then boom. Any way, I'm learning, and thanks again!
