My old profile became corrupted so I created a new one and I now wish to copy across my bookmarks. I have tried following the procedure on here for 'back-up and restore' - i.e. I created a back-up copy of my bookmarks, started a Firefox 5.0 session using the new profile, clicked 'restore' from the 'Import & Backup' tab in Library, and opened the back-up file. I then closed down the Library window and started a new Firefox session but there are still no bookmarks. Can you help?

I assume that you created a JSON backup via Import & Backup > Backup and not an HTML backup.

Did you give that file a .json file extension?
You can check that via the right-click context menu > Properties

Do you see bookmarks in the Library after you have restored that backup?

Yes, I created the backup using Import & Backup, and the file has a .json extension.

After following the procedure to restore the backup, there are still no bookmarks in the library.
