how do I get the menu bar to display permanently without having to push the alt key
If I hit the alt key, I get a tool bar that has file, edit, etc. How can I get it to display all the time without pressing the alt key?

orange Firefox button > Options -> Menu Bar = click on it so that it has a check-mark
