Remove the password for that site. See Viewing and deleting passwords

  • click on the site to highlight it, click "Remove"

When you go to the site again, enter your user name and new password, Firefox should ask if you want it to remember the password.

You need to update some plug-ins:

  • Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
  • Highlight an entry in the drop down list
  • Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

Firefox will remember new form data when entered.

For deleting passwords, the instructions at the end of the article posted by cor-el are the same as those posted in my original response.
