Firefox Nightly, fully updated, is using 700k+ memory, on a good day it uses around 500k. Why is it using so much?

on a Windows 7 Pro 64bit machine. I can provide more details if needed. I have used other browsers, they are all using an excessive amount of memory. I do not know why. It is frustrating. I do not want to switch browsers, I simply want to know why my Firefox uses so much memory and fix it. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

Nightly is in early testing stages. You should be a very experienced tester/user if you choose to run the Nightly versions.

Have to tried running in Firefox Safe Mode to see if one of your many extensions is the cause?

  1. Don't check anything when entering Safe Mode, just continue
  2. If the problem does not occur in Safe Mode it is probably an Extension or Plugin causing the problem
  3. See:

I should have mentioned in my original post, I went to Nightly as it seemed to be using less memory then just normal Firefox. I will try switching back to the latest RC of Firefox.
