hi , I am using FireFox 12 to test my application. My application is fetching file path to perform some validations.

In js file i have added following parameter and it is working fine with prior FF12 version netscape.security.PrivilegeManager.enablePrivilege("UniversalFileRead");

If i use alert('UniversalXPConnect = '+ netscape.security.PrivilegeManager.enablePrivilege("UniversalXPConnect")); parameter then i can get file path in JS file.

Please help.

You probably need to sign your script.

A good place to ask advice about web development is at the MozillaZine "Web Development/Standards Evangelism" forum.

The helpers at that forum are more knowledgeable about web development issues.
You need to register at the MozillaZine forum site in order to post at that forum.

Hi,

I have the same inconvenience with a Web product (Documentum) since I have upgraded my Firefox to the version 12.

I have tried with no success to override UniversalFileRead privilege directly in the browser preferences located in my Firefox user profile (pref.js) as proposed in this thread: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/components/jssec.html (or this one: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/components/per-file.html)

Is there any additionnal ideas to bypass this restriction?

Thanks in advance.
