Why are my weblinks not live in Mac Mail?

I have just switched from using Safari as my default browser in Mac OSX 10.7.3. to FireFox 4.0.1 because both version 10.0 and the beta 11.0 would not allow the plug-in for multiple tool-bars which you can have in 4.0.1.

Now I am finding that when I want to attach a link of a website to an email in Mac Mail the link is dead and cannot be used to go straight to the website. In Safari I could do this.

Is this a bug or does it require another plug-in or fix? I do a lot of attachments that require links and they need to be live for ease. This could force me back to Safari if I cant get it sorted.

Does anyone have or has had the same problem and how did they solve this?

What plugin is it that you are trying to use in firefox that won't work with Firefox 11? Using firefox 4 is no longer supported and opens you to major security issues.

If you'd like to let me know what problems you are having with 11, I'd b happy to help you.

Try to start Firefox in Safe mode. This mode disables all extensions, user customizations, hardware acceleration, etc. temporarily for diagnostic and troubleshooting. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker. Once you do, you can disable that add-on and report the issue to that add-on's developer.

You usually need to use a button on the toolbar on the web page with the editor to compose an email message to create a live hyperlink with Firefox.
You can look for a toolbar button with a link (chain like) icon.
