Why is firefox slow? I have 100mbps line with virgin, speed tests show I get 80-90Mbps with other browsers but only 20-30Mbps with firefox
Ive tried Chrome, Exp9, Safari and all of them give great speeds. Whe i use forefox its extreamly slow. 20-30Mpbs, Why?

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
I have the same problem with FF 14.0.1 on windows seven 64bits.
My test is done with my antivirus and my firewall disabled (bitdefender); I measure the speed on speedtest.net by choosing always the same server:
- with IE9, Opera12 or Chrome21, I get 85-93 Mb/s
- with FF 14.0.1, I get 12-17 Mb/s ! :-(
What's wrong in FF ?

I have the same problem with FF 14.0.1 on a freshly reinstalled Win7 32:
I have a 100Mbps cable connection, but get a ridiculous 4-5 Mbps out of FF while the latest versions of Explorer and Chrome gives at least 75Mbps...
All tests have been done with virus protection on as well as off (the latter is something I loathe doing) and with two different speed tests, one of them being speedtest.net. The results are conclusive: The problem clearly rests with FF. So: What in Heavens name has happened to my longtime favvo browser? At the moment it is quite useless and I am at my wits end.
I don't particularly want to, but as of tonight I'm transferring all my bookmarks to Chrome as a hopefully temporary measure.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
The security software is F-secure, but as I said I get the same results if I turn it off.
This issue is caused by the F-Secure Browser Protection extension
