I download NoScript plugin from HTTPS Secure Mozilla site. I get informed that a 'new version' on an UNSECURE page is the 'most recent' I...
Per your instructions I will not install plugins from an untrusted source. Firefox says the noscript.net certificicate is self-signed and therefore not valid. How do I get the original plugin with Mozilla's Verisign cert to stay in place. The lack of security is UPSETTING!!!

Do you have version 2.5.4? If so, there's no need to update.
That is the version available here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/noscript/

No need to update? Version 2.5.3 is the version I found at the https mozilla plugins address, claimed as the latest official release. Version 2.5.4 was fed to me from the unsecured 'noscript.net' site with its self-signed cert. "No need to update" MAY be true if the https cert is valid for Mozilla.org, from Verisign, and I am not getting a claim of a "more recent version" from what appears to be a bogus site installed via piggyback from a suspected fraudulent site. NoScript.net does not have a trustable site certificate. I HATE THAT. I will stop using firefox if this happens again. Thank you for your bogus and worthless answer. No Need to Update if you have fake version 2.5.4? Oh. sure. He he he. Funny as a heart attack. No, you didn't answer my question, you obfuscated it. Sorry.
Hi MisterBill99, if you follow the link in my post to the Mozilla add-ons site, the current version there is 2.5.4. I'm not sure what you are seeing. Try removing the version you have and install again from the add-ons site.
If the problem is with updates to the script, I'm not sure how those work. I can't recall seeing an SSL error message for those. Do you have any add-on bundles or special installers/updaters that might have altered the default behavior?
