Up until very recently I had my FF setup so that whenever I closed all windows, all history would be cleared completely, including recently closed Windows. Now, I haven't made any changes to any settings whatsoever yet for some reason FF has started remembering Recently closed windows and if I open said window, FF opens all tabs closed with that window in the previous session AND FF has also memorized my e-mail account's password which I have never allowed it to do. I'm more than a little annoyed at these sudden changes that came pretty much without notifications and I seem unable to do anything about them (I already have the privacy settings set up to never remember anything of the browsing history or passwords, just like always). Is there a solution to this problem or do I need to go over to another browser altogether if I want privacy settings like those FF used to have?

Update to Firefox 15.0.1 (Help > About) as that version fixes some issues with Private Browsing mode in Firefox 15.0.

I have the same problem and am running 15.0.1.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
