When I start up Firefox, whenever I highlight text in the drop down menu, e.g. Tools=>Downloads, the highlighted text is white, not the usual black text, this makes it very irritating and hard to see. The issue follows throughout the Browser. Another issue, which I think is related, is when I use the address bar drop down option to see the bookmarked sites I go to. When I use that option my usual sites are in the drop down, I notice that the Title is correct but the address text under the Title is green, e.g. Google www.google.com<=this is green. I also notice that when I try to save an image from a website via "save image as" it brings up the classic windows menu instead of the Windows 7 Oblique theme. I first thought this was all a Windows 7 issue since it always happens when I restart my computer. But when I used Internet Explorer (I.E.) to test to see if this was a Windows issue, none of this happened on I.E. which leads me to believe this is a Firefox issue.

If that happens with the default theme, you could try using a third-party theme instead. There are lots of them in the addons site.

If you want to get into retheming just certain elements in the interface but not everything, you can create a userChrome.css file in a chrome subdirectory in the Firefox profile. This page gives some tips about that:
