The new Hotmail (Outlook) has lost functionality in Firefox. Can open, read, and delete, but cannot print, move to folders, etc. All functions work in IE.

I cannot use Firefox with Hotmail. A couple months ago I upgraded to the new Hotmail "Outlook", and I have lost most of the functionality. I can open, read, and delete e-mails. I can also use the "Categorize" option for some reason. But none of the other options work, including printing, moving to folders, sweeping, junk folder options and the reply menu. All of these functions work properly in IE, but I do not like to use IE and I do not have it on my home computer. I have tried upgrading my Firefox (just tried this a couple minutes ago) and have checked plugins to see if I have any that other people reported having problems with, but I cannot seem to isolate a problem.

I am not sure if this is just another one of those Microsoft things (SharePoint is designed to not work properly in anything other than IE). I also have Windows 7, though I wouldn't think that would affect the operation.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.
