hello royhalpin, does it work when you navigate to the program folder (probably something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Nightly) , go to the \uninstall subfolder and run the helper.exe file to start the deinstallation process?

ok, could you elaborate on what's happening. is the uninstall entry not showing up at all in the windows control panel or does the uninstaller just don't do its job (any error messages)?

The same happens trying to uninstall from the control panel or from the program files. The working cursor pops up like the command is understood and with a second or two the cursor disappears and then nothing happens. I followed the same procedure with Firefox same problem. Firefox version 16.0.1. Window 7 home premium. I use the MS security

hmm, this is strange - does it help if you right-click the helper.exe file & choose to run it as administrator?

As the Administrator Right click. Tried it, no. Tried trouble shooting as the admin, no. Tried opening the file, no. all the same results .

Easiest is to remove the installation folder of the Nightly build if uninstalling isn't working.

If you used a separate profile folder for Nightly then you can use the Profile Manager to remove that profile and delete the files.
Then you do not have to remove the folder in Local (Cache) and Roaming (profile) yourself.
Be sure never to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox because that will remove all profile folder and not just the one that is used by that version.

cor-el thanks for the input. What I found, after following your instructions Nightly was still installed and functioning. It would not UN-install. The Firefox files in the program files were deleted but the Nightly was still there. I tried to physically delete Nightly from the program files and then it went away. I returned to the control panel and it was gone. It had to be deleted separately from Fire Fox.

I have a similar problem, I have tried uninstalling Nightly both by the Control Panel and by navigating to the uninstall folder and using helper.exe . In both cases I get a message that I must first stop nightly. I can see no evidence that Nightly is running, it doesn't show up in the Program manager or anywhere else.

hello eonicholson, could you try uninstalling immediately after a reboot of your pc...?

This seems to have worked, I did not get the error message and it says the uninstall was completed. Thanks.
