It will occasionally ask to open in safe mode, but most of the time it just crashes. I think it has something to do with the profile because it works fine on the other account that's on the same computer. The only think I did before it started acting up was have it delete my browsing history after it shuts down. Is there a way to save just the bookmarks and delete the rest of the profile?

This will also work on Mac, so make sure to select the correct OS and Firefox version via the selector at the top.

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix:

  • bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page.

  • You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, like you open a website, or open the crash reports page via "Help > Troubleshooting Information".

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.

Oh, I forgot to say that I'm running OSX 10.6. It looks like the first link is for Windows.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing when you open it. Please do the following to give us crash IDs that will help us understand more about the crash.

  1. (OS X 10.6 or previous) Click the Finder icon in the dock. Your home folder will be selected. In the right side of the window, click the Library folder to open it. Then open the "Application Support" folder, the "Firefox" folder, the "Crash Reports" folder and finally the "submitted" folder.
(OS X 10.7 or above) Click the Finder icon in the dock. On the menu bar, click the Go menu, hold down the option or alt key and select Library. A window will open containing your Library folder. Then open the "Application Support" folder, the "Firefox" folder, the "Crash Reports" folder and finally the "submitted" folder.
  2. Open the 5 most recent files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
  3. Paste each ID with bp- into the reply window on the forums.

Thanks in advance!

Oh, that did the trick. I guess it was the profile acting up. Thanks for the help.

It looks like the profile was the problem. Would you still like the crash ID's?
