Every window that loads (new window, private window, pop-up, etc) causes an Error Console to load.

Is there some plugin I can tweak or disable, or a browser configuration I can remove or change so this Error Console does not present?

thanks.

I've disabled these plugins, restarted Firefox, but the Error Console still presents for every new window opened:

  • Developer Tools v1.11
  • Multifox v2.0.7
  • Toggle Web developer Toolbar
  • Web Developer v1.2.5
  • Web Developer Toolbar button v1.1.0

You can check the settings in the Web Developer extension.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Thanks, cor-el. I'll try this and let you know how it goes.

@cor-el: I restarted in Safe Mode, and then re-attempted those actions (creating new window, etc).

Good news: The Error Console did not present.

I guess the next step is to try adding add-ons one-by-one and re-attempting those actions to see which triggers the Error Console to present, eh? <bummer>
