hello and HELP

i have had yahoo issues and yahoo mail issues for desk top for a while now. today it got very bad. yahoo mail sort of loads but not all the way. it hangs on " transferring data from s.ying.com." sometimes the yahoo page will not load as well.
various suggestions have been to update : yahoo toolbar, or java or firefox.. have done all three . the issues existed before and after those updates.

have cleared cache, run avast with no change. i a stumped and just now realized that my account here will have responses going to yahoo mail which is not opening correctly!

any ideas?

i can not get to yahoo help at all after many attempts so i am hoping to get help here

thanks

steve

Hi Steve, you might already have tried these, but, if not:

(1) Clear your yahoo.com cookies (you can do this from the home page if the mail page won't load)

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then try:

(2) Access mail through the Yahoo home page (or if applicable, the AT&T Yahoo home page)

Due to mail upgrades and server changes, old bookmarks and address for Yahoo mail may be obsolete and dysfunctional.

s.yimg.com is an additional server Yahoo use to build the mail site. If it is blocked for some reason, then mail will not be able to load correctly. Can you confirm that you can access this link, for example:

https://s.yimg.com/zz/combo?nq/s/php/mail/js/launch_54_9054.js&nq/s/php/mail/js/promises_54_9054.js (this is a script, which will look like just a lot of text run together)

thanks for the help.

since i use yahoo mail, it is obvious that if i am answering you your instructions were useful. BUT...it took longer than usual for the yahoo start page to appear and very long for mail to load. the.s .yimg link did not work UNTIL i followed your instructions. after it seemed all was OK, i closed mail and tried to reopen mail and the same issue developed.

so mail is kind of working but takes an unusual amount of time to open.

i have run a virus scan and always check and delete cache.

i am stumped and frustrated. this has gotten progressively worse over time, maybe 10 days or os...

( am running latest firefox.

windows 7, 64 bit

can you suggest other possible solutions?
