Can I safely delete these old Firefox related files?

more options

While dealing with a problem last week I came across the following files in my computer:

nsSessionStore.js C:\Program Files\Netscape\Navigator 9\components\ 72 KB 2007-08-16 04:07:44 nsSessionStore.js C:\Program Files\PortFirefox\FirefoxPortable\App\firefox\components\ 72 KB 2007-07-26 12:09:20

I did a bit more exploring and found that Netscape Navigator is still installed on this system! Should I uninstall it? I can't remember using it for ages and I doubt it did anything special that Firefox can't do now.

There is no installed program called Port Firefox, just a big folder (about 32 Meg) - from the date created (8th Sept 2007) and date last changed (23rd Oct 2010) I'm fairly sure this folder was left behind by the computer technician who ported my system. Can I go ahead and just delete the folder?

Finally, there is another folder in Program Files which looks similar as it has the same dates and, again, doesn't appear to be related to any installed program.- this one is called Radio@NetscapePlus. Again, can I just delete the folder?

I'm on a bit of a mission to get all the unused and outdated stuff off my system so I'd really like to know what to do about these files.

Thank you, KK.

None of those "files" are related to your Firefox 32 installation at all!

Yes, uninstall Netscape 9 - it did have a lot more features than Firefox has, it was a "Suite" of internet programs much like SeaMonkey is now. You won't miss what you haven't used for many years now. Make sure you delete any folders that might be left behind, too. Delete that Radio@NetscapePlus folder, too.

PortableFirefox doesn't actually "install", there's no registry keys like with the official Firefox version. If you just delete the Program Files folder Portable will be gone and won't impact your official Firefox installation.
