When I am at school I will be running firefox in one class. Alot of times I have to leave firefox running on my laptop and go to another class and start from where I left off. Upon opening my laptop the minimize, maximize, and close buttons and sometimes other buttons completely dissipear. I am running windows 8.1 fully updated, and my firefox is updated to the latest version. I have also tried turning off "use of hardware acceleration when available" in setting, and yet none of this has helped the problem.

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver.
