ebay pages now show button to see full description
As of today something on Ebay has changed in the coding that affects only Firefox, 35.0.1. OSX
Before today all descriptions of items and photos showed normally, now suddenly there is a "see full item description"
button, this ONLY displays to me in firefox, if I view any pages on Ebay with any other browser- Safari, Chrome etc the pages all display correctly.
Ad block I disabled and tested with it off, no difference, ditto for the cookie blocker, on or off makes no difference.
Screen shots show:
- 1 a snip of an Ebay page in Safari
- 2 an identical snip of the same page using firefox

Update on this issue:
All of a sudden as of today the issue has gone away, now every page on Ebay shows the correct way it did before. I haven't installed, updated or changed anything in the browser. The "see full item description" button is gone and the full description and images all display by default as they had before.
Best I can figure is Ebay had changed the code and FF choked on it, and after enough complaints they came up with a fix on Ebay for the problem their scripts caused.

One more item- if I click on that "see full item description" button it opens a sort of floater with the content and greys the background out, attached a snip of a page at random from Ebay that is relatively plain to show the "floater"
I also had cleared cache and restarted FF a couple of times

Do you possibly still have older pages in the cache that you could check via "File > Work Offline" in the history?
If you use extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
Thank you!
I did restart in safe mode and it did not correct the issue. No cached pages available to look back on I use the default theme.
There is a discussion on the Ebay support forum about this problem so it's not something just affecting me it looks like. This seems to affect some mobile devices, but as I said in the first post- it does not have an effect on any other browser I use, just Firefox, which leads me to think Ebay changed some code Firefox is having an issue with not displaying as it did before. Clearly there is a new button on the Ebay pages with the title on it "See full description" but it only involves Firefox.

Does it have effect if you make the Firefox window wider?

It has no effect even full screen. Here is a page at random there:
The portion of every page on Ebay that the description, background and photos people included have- is in the section of the pages the screen shot #1 shows, that is now replaced by this button I circled in red.
This is the exact URL that button leads to which shows the "frame" :
The 2nd photo is the full screen showing the "frame"
The 3rd photo is taken in Google Chrome, at the exact same first URL there is no button to click to "see the full description," it's automatically all displayed as it always has been until last night that is in Firefox. The same automatic display of this content is shown in Safari and other browsers.
