unwanted ads pop up
I have malware opening new tabs and playing ads every time I use firefox browser. I have scanned with numerous virus checkers such as Vipre, Malwarebytes, Spybot. I can't find the malware causing this and it has become really intolerable. Please could I have some suggestions? Has anyone solved a similar problem?

This must be an issue caused by adware. So try to find it out manually. First type '"about:plugins"' on your location bar, you will find a list of installed plugins, their purpose and location path. Check if you can find any suspicious entry and remove them. You can easily delete them by following their Path. Also check on your Windows's control panel and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there.

Hiya Sashoto and FredMcD :)
Thank you so much for your kind help. I have pasted my applications etc below. I have discovered that the problem lies with YouTube Video and Mp3 Downloader. When I disable it, all the ads stop popping up. I do need a video youtube downloader and wonder if you can recommend a free one with minimal pop ups. Again thanks, I wouldnt have discoverewd the root of this problem without your kind help.
With best wishes
JJ

Some of your crash reports weren’t sent to the Mozilla Servers.
In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it and select Submit.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.
I have this problem too. And it always seems to occur after a Firefox update. All of my plugins are legit (and probably necessary).
I get 3-4 adds and new Tabs when I launch Firefox and when I change web sites. We were unable to do my grandson's online work because of the time required to load the ads!
Note: I don't have this problem on Internet Explorer.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
I received an earlier reply from Tyler Downer. He suggested a Firefox Refresh and that seems to have worked.
He sent another comment recommending that I run malware scanners listed in the previous article.
thanks to you both,
len
Glad to help. Safe Surfing.
