had to replace a hard drive. i now have a new drive with a clean copy of thunderbird on it. i need to get some emails off of thunderbird on the old drive to thunderbird on the new drive. i found the folders i need, i just can't figure out how to move them from here to there and get it to work.

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

If you want all the emails and settings from your previous installation then you should transfer the whole profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb - see the section on 'restoring to a different location'. If you only want some emails/folders from the old installation then the best way is to use the Thunderbird add-on ImportExportTools.

Yup, I found that extension after posting my question. It works great, solved my problem and I was even able to recover some older emails as well. Thanks for the response!
