"View Image Info" Now Causes Gifs to Animate...
I am using Firefox 46.0.1. I did not encounter this bug before this update.
I have sensory processing issues. Flashing, zooming, parallax, etc. animation can trigger migraines, and flashing safety signals have triggered seizures, possibly due to the Bucha effect/flicker vertigo. I don't have epilepsy.
I currently use QuickJava to block Gifs and Flash and sometimes block Javascript.
Unfortunately, if I try to "view image info," it no longer blocks Gifs. So instead of seeing the image info, I see pain.
I don't know where the change is.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
Is the problem still there?
It has always been the case that you restart an animation if you select (highlight) an animated GIF image in "Tools > Page Info > Media" AFAIK. I use this to restart an animation that has finished as I use the 'once' value for image.animation_mode

I can't use safe mode because it doesn't block gifs [or the other animations].
I used to be able to use "view image info," without triggering gifs.
