I transferred my Mozilla Thunderbird email from an old computer (Windows 7 Premium) to a new one (Windows 10). The left-side column shows TWO folders each for "inbox", "sent", and "trash": One under my email address, the other under "Local folders".

How do I get rid of one set?

BTW: The same appears on this site's front page!

I think you'll want to switch to the unified view, where all inbox/sent/trash folders are shown as one main folder, which you can expand to show the subfolders. Go to Menu -> View -Folders -> Unified Folders.
