Hello, recently I have been getting this message a short time after opening Firefox. It looks like the attached picture. Based on what I have seen, crash reports can help get to the root of the problem, however, Firefox doesn't seem to be generating crash reports after these tab crashes. Can anyone help me with both of these issues?

Those are problems with the Shockwave Flash plugin. Firefox 55.0.1 Crash Report [@ F1398665248_____________________________ ] PluginFilename : NPSWF32_26_0_0_151.dll See:

I disabled the flash plugin and videos are playing correctly again. However, I can't play flash games without the plugin. Any suggestions?

You can set the Shockwave Flash plugin to "Ask to Activate" on the about:addons page and enable this plugin via the Lego block icon at the left end of the location/address bar when this plugin is needed.

That seemed to solve the problem yesterday, but tabs are crashing again today.

Here is a new crash report from today. bp-d09f23b4-59a2-411e-8c5d-289c51170826

I don't think I was when that crash happened, I had multiple videos open but only one was playing.

I refreshed Firefox, but that didn't solve the problem and I almost lost all of my tabs. Going back to v54 did the trick for now. Hope it holds up.

This may have something to do with bug1388584. I called for more help.

Hey, guys, tabs don't just crash randomly, they are the main part of the program.

If you see a lot of things crashing, you've probably got a SINGLE BIG problem.

Think about it just a little: most of the pages you open have thousands of scripts in the background.

And the first suspect is: adblocker add-ons! It seems that commercial websites don't like (read "hate") popup and ad-blockers, so there is a war going on.

Solution: pray to god your adblocking software is up-to-date. Then UPDATE it. You might be using a deprecated version. Explicitly check for updates.

THAT solved the problem, I'm assuming each and everyone of you had.

First off, this post already has a solution, it was going back to v54. Nacroing a thread is frowned upon

Second, I don't use an adblocker, didn't back then and still don't. So please don't declare that you have the answer when all you have is a hypothesis. It makes you look like a presumptuous moron when you do that.

Third, please don't bring your anti-ads agenda here, these websites are trying to provide a free service, and the only way they can do that is through ads. If you like a website and want to support it, don't use ad block on it.

Go back and learn some humility before you try to be the "all knowing savior" again.
