I have two AOL/Verizon email addresses in my Mozilla Thunderbird email system. They have identical server settings. One of the addresses works fine, but oddly I get the following error message when I try to send email using the other address:

“An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Request failed; Mailbox unavailable. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.”

Open Tools/Account Settings, select the problem account in the left pane, then Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the lower right pane. Is the selected smtp server the one that uses the User name and password of the selected account, or is it pointing to the smtp server of the other account? Many services require each account to send on the smtp server that uses the account's credentials, even if all the accounts are with the same provider.
