I used to be able to zoom in and out so smoothly and seemlessly by just using the touchpad and pinching fingers, and at some point, with more recent updates/upgrades, this disappeared. I've been using FF for a while now, so would be great if this zooming control from touchpad would be really great again!

(None of the zoom add-ons have worked)

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

Hello,

have you tried Firefox's zoom feature? It will let you enlarge, reduce or reset the size of a webpage or any other content displayed on your screen. The zoom feature affects all displayed content.

  • To enlarge the size of the displayed content, press both keys Ctrl (Windows, Linux)/command (Mac) and + at the same time.
  • To reduce the size of the displayed content, press Ctrl (Windows, Linux)/command (Mac) and - at the same time.
  • To reset the size back to default, press Ctrl (Windows, Linux)/command (Mac) and 0 at the same time.

You can also try a Firefox add-on such as Fixed Zoom or Zoom Page WE.

Please let us know if this information helped you!

Thank you.

Try to set this pref to true on the about:config page.

  • apz.allow_zooming = true

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

Thank you to both Theodorax and cor-el for your kind replies! I tried toggling apz.allow_zooming to true, and unfortunately that did not work, but thanks anyway!

The only thing that makes it a bit better (without still being able to zoom in/out directly from touchpad) is the Zoom Page WE add-on, so thanks so much for that suggestion, Theodorax! :) I hope you see this and know that your response did help me!

I have the exact same problem. In google chrome and safari I can zoom using my mouse pad, but in firefox, it won't let me.

  • Fire Fox People: You HAVE to fix this problem. I am not giving you a choice.

Firefox team, please allow mac users to pinch-zoom as and when we like on our browser pages. It is unresponsive to tell us to use "zoom" functions which defeats the whole purpose of our trackpad... :(

If there are no promises or work to reinvent or reinstate this function, I guess it would be yet another time for me to migrate to another browser.

EDIT: the about:config function worked after refreshing the browser tabs. Thank you!
