updated from 68 to 78, lost address book info (names) - many of the NAMES in my address book were lost, just a comma in place of the name, but the email detail IS still there. How do I revert back to v 68, OR recover info in 78?
Did the normal update, from 68 to 78 yesterday, once I opened under 78, many of the NAMES in my address book were lost, just a comma in place of the name, but the email detail IS still there. I still have v68 running on my laptop, copied my 78 Profile back to the laptop, replaced all files/folders from my 78 profile into the new profile I created on the laptop, but when I tried to open TBird on the laptop using that replaced file info, it refused, said it's incompatible to go from 78 back to 68. Is there any way to get my 78 profile running on a 68 install so I could check to see if the v 78 is just not able to read the names in my address book (so I could recover the address book fully and export it for importing into v78), or if the new install of 78 actually has corrupted my address book information and it's lost now? Alternatively, is there a way to repair my address book in 78 that would bring back the lost names?
Thanks for any help Chas

To be sure you are doing this from right profile - open the profile folder from TB: Help / Troubleshooting Information / profile area: Open Folder Close Thunderbird. From the profile file move (not copy nor delete) all .mab and all .mab.bak files to desktop (should be only 2: abook and history but if there are more then move all). Also move abook.sqlite and history.sqlite (not formhistory.sqlite) to same folder on desktop. The files abook.mab.bak and history.mab.bak -> copy (so you can have a backup still on desktop) them back to profile folder and rename them to abook.mab and history.mab (so delete .bak) Open Thunderbird.

Chaspear,
I think we need to have a developer look at your address book, or at least one contact. Can you share this info?
