websites working on Chrome but not on Firefox

Hello everybody,

There are more and more websites that have functions that no longer work with Firefox and force me to use Chromium instead. Do you if there is any chance that an upcoming release will put everything right?

Thank you in advance Virginie

Oh sure. We know the point you made. But not all websites are rejecting FireFox (or maybe its Firefox that is rejecting websites).

There is a war going on between big business and the digital criminals that are using every trick in the book to gain access to us, in the middle.

People do not realize that Windows 10 is one huge spyware, collecting virtually everything we do in the os. And i had even found where the MS browser copied my passwords and log-ins from FF. And i would not be surprised that the Google browser is also fancy spyware too.

So FF has taken a very very strong approach wth security. It may be over kill. But it may also be ingenuity that big business is lagging behind. However, it may also be technical glitches, aka bugs, that need to be worked out.

But its polite posts like your and those of angry FF users that let the brainiacs at Mozilla know what is not working.

FF is a work in progress.  :-)

Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What is/are the exact error message(s) ?

It depends For example, today I tried to use jitsi meet, but impossible to make my mic working although I tried different configurations. On Chromium, I got a scrolling menu and could choose easily. I make my accounting on a dedicated website and it's no longer possible to get an overview of the PDF I downloaded. It still works on Chromium. Last thing today, I tried to command something and to change my delivery address. Impossible to make it work on Firefox, but it worked perfectly on Chromium. And generally no error message or wrong one...

Thank you guys but no it's not a problem of add-ons or configuration of my mic (but I already tried of lot of things including safe mode and configuration), but an incompatibility between Firefox and different functions in the websites. Of course if the webdesigners tried their website on Firefox and corrected the bugs, it would be enough. But as they don't and to be able to maintain the position of Firefox as a real alternative of Chrome and Google's monopoly, there's no other choice than correct Firefox and accept the very same functions that the ones that run on Chrome, is there not?

hello v,

i dont use the mic, but does your FF indicate it granted permission to access your mic, like on my system in attached pic ?

also, did the mic function work for you with a different version of FF?

it is possible you can downgrade and then keep it from upgrading.

It does of course, but it's just an example of the different issues I have with Firefox and for me the problem is not how to make a particular website working, but how to make Firefox working with all the websites.

If I try to continue with Jitsi Meet, here two pictures explaining the difference between Firefox (left) and Chromium (right). On Firefox, no access to the audio settings and the video settings don't work correctly. On Chromium, no problem!

But once again, it's just an example

I see. Thanks for additional info.

If you had better performance with an previous version of Firefox, you could downgrade. Afterwards any future upgrading of the older version can be disabled.

Maybe it could work (even I not sure at all) but it would not change the point that Firefox is no longer compatible with all the websites...
