Firefox 88 gives circular gradients jagged edges

After the update to Firefox 88, large radial backgrounds have jagged edges. Interestingly, Firefox's screenshot tool does render it correctly, so I attached two images showing the expected gradient and the actually rendered image.

When I restarted Firefox in safe mode, the gradients are correctly rendered. So it must be something in my settings, because in normal mode disabling extensions has no effect. Does anyone have a clue what in the (probably advanced) preferences could make a difference?

The second screenshot showing the issue wasn't attached yet. Here it is:

Ah found it—with 'Use hardware acceleration when available' disabled, the gradients are correctly rendered again.
