Hi, This morning when I opened Thunderbird, it downloaded my new messages as usual but they are no longer highlighted. They look exactly the same as the read ones. The only thing I've done recently was to create a new filter a couple of days ago to sent emails from a specific email address straight to the trash folder. No other changes and no updates had been installed when this happened although I have now installed the latest one since to see whether it helped. Any ideas?

Yes, I do. I guess it makes sad sense that Bitdefender has to read each message to look for problems, but it is a bit of a pain!

I've just realised that although I have about 5 email accounts set up, it only seems to affect the first one in the list.

It's generally recommended to exclude the TB profile folder from AV scanning, leaving the real-time background scan in place. As for spam filtering, the one applied by the mail provider at the server end is often the best option.
