The old preview, old setup dialog, and old print command were removed in Firefox 97.

Do you need help finding some settings, or do you prefer to skip previewing completely? In a future version, we expect a user preference and a new keyboard shortcut to bypass previewing, but not until at least Firefox 98 (next month). For now, you have an extra click.

I need to automatically bypass the Firefox print modal and get to the system dialog for two main reason, one, I am printing to a Star receipt printer and the firefox dialog does not activate the multi-length, auto-cut or open cash drawer functions of the printer. the second issue is speed. When we have a line of customers at the register, the extra step is slowing us down, and employees sometimes forget they need to bypass the firefox print dialog. There are also issues when printing barcode labels to the dymo label printer.

Hi stormseraph, I don't know the timing for getting that feature added, unfortunately.

As a temporary workaround, you could consider migrating to the Extended Support Release of Firefox 91, which will be supported until September. More info:

It's finally here. Firefox 101 has a preference to bypass the combined print preview/setup overlay and go straight to the system dialog. Here's how you can try it out:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste print.prefer_system_dialog and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the preference to switch the value from false to true

If you need to restore the default display, you can call up the preference and double-click again to toggle the value back to false. There's also will be a reset arrow at the right end of the row when the preference has a non-default value.
