Spacing

Yesterday on Fox News chat the space between words suddenly started disappearing. The space bar will move the cursor only once, then the next letter typed will not space. It only does it in Firefox, not in any other browser. The problem has not presented itself in any other app or in windows. Any solutions?

Users are reporting this sudden change in commenting on a couple other sites as well. It's possible they share some code in common that updated recently. So far I haven't seen an explanation of what is going on or how to work around it.

Question: Is the space preserved if you press the spacebar twice, or does that have no effect?

Sometimes when I hit the space bar twice after the first word is typed but that only happens a few times. This happened when I was doing a comment on FOX NEWS. Using other browsers this does not happen.

The site's commenting platform (OpenWeb) seems to have made a change on Monday that broke Firefox compatibility. I posted a screenshot in another reply: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1388408#answer-1532297

Currently, you can work around it by typing to the left of a throwaway character. For example, type an X, move the cursor to the left of the X and type your comment normally, then finally delete the X before posting.

Please report the problem to the site and hopefully they will inform the commenting platform company for a quick fix.
