Cut / copy and paste, nightmare!!!
Cut /copy and paste, nightmare!!!
what is going on? Cut / copy and paste should be easy, its not. Open a new tab, google homepage, and unable to paste the item I had just copied from another tab, it will only work when I go back to original and recopy? Too time consuming this issue.

Is copy and paste more reliable in Troubleshoot Mode? Maybe one of your extensions is interfering.
Taking your advice and the java extension appears to be the issue, now disabled and cut and paste working as it should. Heres hoping!!!
The issue is back!
Is copy/paste failing on any site in particular?
Well, switched over to chrome and the cut and paste works as it should on all the sites I use. No doubt now this is a firefox issue. Issue- cut or copy something from existing site, open new tab and the copy will not paste in place. Back to site re-copy and back to that open link and it does! It is just too many back and for's. Cant go on like this firefox, never used to be like this. Long time users both my brother and myself and he switched to chrome because of the issue.. Never known this browser so problematic, Time to part.

Does it still happen in a new profile? An easy way to test a new profile is to install Developer Edition and see if it happens there or refresh your existing profile.
will i lose any saved logins, passwords, bookmarks etc. I had no issues last year so what has happened to cause to the change, updates?
Hi
Looking at the information you provided with your question, you appear to be using an older version of Firefox. I recommend that you update so that you have the latest security and stability fixes (which may resolve the issue that you are reporting here).
This support article may help:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-release
version 118.0.1 64 bit win 10
what is the latest,? doesnt this auto-update?
You can install Developer Edition and test it without affecting your existing settings.
Try disabling any third-party security software that may be interfering.
odd! fired up my old win 7 os last night and opened firefox. No issues at all on that with copy and paste, no to and from pages. Version 115 it says, refreshed that last month which has all it problems with adjusting things in about config to my liking, disposing of the pathetic tiles!" So, not a win 10 issue as chrome allows copy and paste, not win 7 as old firefox also copies and pastes, clearly something in this new FF as both this and my win 7 have the same add ons which have been turnef off to fault find.
Does it still happen with version 115.3.1esr on the Windows 10 system?
of third party software only installed norton security, system all as windows 10 installed. of version 115.3.1, relectuant to, not too pc savy!

Hold down the Shift key while right-clicking to override the site's context menu handling.
"Hold down the Shift key while right-clicking to override the site's context menu handling."
what will that do?
A website can suppress the Firefox context menu from opening with a right mouse click via JavaScript and possibly replace the Firefox context menu with their own context menu. This JavaScript code should only block the context menu on the webpage and not in input areas, but in the past we have regularly seen cases where this wasn't working properly and the context menu was always blocked. If you hold the Shift key when right-clicking you suppress the website's context menu and get the regular Firefox context menu instead.
Try keyboard shortcuts in case the buttons on the webpage or other methods aren't working.
- Copy: Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert (Mac: Command+C)
- Paste: Ctrl+V or Shift+Insert (Mac: Command+V)
- Cut: Ctrl+X or Shift+Delete (Mac: Command+X)
I have no issues when using my old windows 7, same sites. I have no issues when using chrome on this windows 10. The issue is only on this firefox with win 10.
