There used to be an option for a separate search window on the address bar. I found it really useful especially for a instant spell check. The option was there then after an update, it wasn't. WHY WHY WHY????? Is there any way for me to put it back? I hate using the address bar to search! Unless I open a new tab or window, regaining control of the prior tab/window is difficult.

garythomas452, if you select View menu > Toolbars > Customise Toolbar… then this will open a customise page. Look for the search box and you should be able to drag it back to the toolbar.

I followed your instructions but found no search bar window to drag. I only found the search icon and a flexible space box. Neither was able to be used for my purpose. Any other ideas on how to restore the search window to the address bar?

You can use Restore Defaults in the customize window.
