I turned on "private browsing" which reset the browser. Then I browsed to look at a particular brand radio. Then when I went to my home page newspaper, an advertisement for that exact product came up on the advertising banner! Wow, how did the newspaper web site know where I had been?

Firefox will create new cookies while in Private Browsing mode if you visit web pages, just like in normal mode.

All cookie settings as set in Tools > Options > Privacy > History are respected.

So if you visited the brand radio website in PB mode and your home page newspaper in that same session then you still have the cookies.
