I want to use the <shift-tab> keyboard combination to move to a previous form field, the same as <tab> alone moves to the next one.

Doesn't Shift + Tab work on a Mac?

Note: In OS X (as of 2005-01), if this preference is not explicitly set, the “Full Keyboard Access” setting in System Preferences will be honored.

Thanks for the reply. I've made some discoveries.

Regardless of the "Full Keyboard Access" setting:

  • <left-shift + tab> doesn't seem to do anything... BUT...
  • <right-shift + tab> cycles backwards through entry fields.

Enabling "Full Keyboard Access" allows <tab> or <right-shift + tab> to focus on all(?) links, form fields, and drop-down menus, as opposed to only text-entry fields.
