You can revert to the Default theme (Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Extensions like InvisibleHand and Ghostery can also cause problems.

If it always happens on specific sites then you can do a test in Safe mode.

You can uninstall (remove) the Java Console extensions and disable the Java Quick Starter extension, you do not need them to run Java applets.
