Those type of sites usually rely on JavaScript to work. You can normally close the site by temporarily disabling JavaScript. To do that, in the Tools menu select Options to open the Options dialog. go to the content panel and de-select the "Enable JavaScript" setting. You should then be able to close the site. You can re-enable JavaScript afterwards.
